Jamie Grant, MA , BSN, LPC

Jamie began her counseling journey in 2009 and has been privileged to journey with people in the DFW area since 2016. Jamie began her career in healthcare after graduating with a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Florida in 1999. After working as a cardiothoracic intensive care nurse with the Veteran's Administration, she felt called to transition from caring from people's physical wellness to nurturing their emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness. Jamie earned her master's in counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, where she was given an award for excellence in counseling.

Jamie is an EMDRIA certified therapist and has used EMDR to treat PTSD, addictions, phobias, OCD, suicidality, and developmental trauma. Additionally, she is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Post Induction Therapy (PIT) based on Pia Mellody's model of developmental immaturity.

As her career has unfolded, Jamie has found herself increasingly drawn to the work of healing attachment wounds, often referred to as Developmental Trauma Disorder or c-PTSD. Currently, Jamie is training to become certified in the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM®), as it is the first modality created specifically for the treatment of c-PTSD. Jamie continues to work with The Meadows, the most trusted name in trauma and addiction treatment, and has had the immense privilege of learning from renown Meadows' fellows such as Bessel Van der Kolk, Peter Levine, and Lawrence Heller.

Jamie's personal philosophy of counseling includes providing an environment of acceptance and empathy, working alongside others as an equal partner to create space for the process of growth and change. Jamie finds tremendous value in each individual person and considers it a true gift to be part of another's journey.

Jamie lives in the Dallas area with her husband of 25 years and their 2 children. Jamie enjoys music, art, coffee, and time with family. She also loves hunting for "junk" to turn into something beautiful.
